It's October and in Poole a bumper crop of arts, culture and eating out is on hand to sustain body and soul through the Autumn.

With a reputation for fine dining, fabulous seafood, great local ingredients and some of the best waterside tables in the UK, the latest edition of the Poole Audi Eat Out Guide provides insider knowledge to the best tables in Poole and beyond.

To celebrate, local restaurants, pubs and cafes across Poole and its neighbouring town of Bournemouth are taking part in October-feast offering special £10 and £15 menus to tempt diners. Feed your soul with Carte Blanche 15-24 October - a season of French and British contemporary circus with the best circus performance from the UK and across the channel. Based at Lighthouse, Poole's centre for the arts, the mix of free and paid events range from aerial theatre, dance, music, film and photography to critically acclaimed acrobatics with French circus Compagnie XY.

Families will have the chance to get involved for free on Sunday 24 October as the Family Circus Arts Day provides trapeze tasters, juggling workshops, hula-hooping, silent film and theatrical make up sessions as well as performances from circus artists throughout the day at Lighthouse11-4pm. With over 30 acclaimed writers, the new and eagerly anticipated Poole Literary Festival 29-31 October has over 50 events including candle lit story telling, Play in a Day, Murder Mystery fish & chip supper and Performance Poetry at it's best.

Star names include former Children's laureate Michael Morpurgo , Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, crime writer Minette Walters, authors Gervase Phinn, Deborah Moggach & Mavis Cheek, children's authors Ali Sparkes, Nicky Singer & Andy Lane, Performance Poets, Elvis McGonagall and Luke Wright.

Dorset Delights will highlight local authors, including Paul Atterbury (Antiques Roadshow), Sarah Challis , Andy Mcdermott , Daisy Goodwin Joe Hashman and Kit Berry, plus music, live art and a Delicious Dorset Cream Tea!

Writer David Gaffney is collecting the anonymous confessions of the people of Poole to turn them into micro-stories.
