A story of good and evil on the Limelight stage in Isosceles Theatre’s production of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Pat Abernathy and Dave Marsden bring their latest work to the Limelight Theatre on Saturday 14th May – a brilliantly adapted stage version of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was originally written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, and was first published in 1886. Set in 19th century London, it tells the story of the respectable Dr Jekyll and his curious relationship with his alter ego, the violent and detestable Mr Hyde. The novel, which was an instant success and one of Stevenson’s best-selling works, was so popular that stage adaptations of the story were developed as soon as a year after its publication.
Isosceles Theatre’s production first toured in 2006, and now it is back on stage to thrill, delight and terrify its audiences. Performed by Pat Abernethy and Dave Marsden, in association with Patrick Prior and Jim Dunk; Isosceles’s version of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde promises to be both original and memorable.
Pat Abernethy and Dave Marsden are two actors who have written, produced and performed their own shows for many years; originally based in Ireland, the pair have since settled in London. Well-known for the comedic performances, Pat and Dave have had the opportunity of working with Kevin Laffan, playwright and creator of ‘Emmerdale’, who wrote ‘Odd Ball Out’ and ‘The Husband’s Tale’ for the two actors just prior to the millennium. Since then the pair have gone on to perform throughout the country with shows including ‘Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper’, ‘The Haunters’, ‘Dracula the Panto’ and ‘The Man Who Left the Titanic’.
Don’t miss this modern adaptation of a classic tale; in a show which will entertain all the family, on Saturday 14th May at the Limelight Theatre.
