Darlington prepares for St.George’s Day
Darlington will be celebrating St. George’s Day on Saturday 23 April in a number of ways, including toasting St. George at the Market Cross at 12 noon, with the Mayor & Mayoress of Darlington; along with honoured guests from Mulheim.
Bryan Thistlewaite, the Mayor of Darlington said “It’s a real pleasure to recognise St George’s Day with a toast and hope to continue in this tradition for many years to come.”
Darlington Library’s junior mascot Deefor the Dragon will be joining the celebrations by handing out roses to members of the public which will be supplied by Flowers by Nattrass.
Darlington Borough Council would like to help the local community to promote any celebratory events by publicising them on their website.
