An iconic Sussex landmark can now become part of a couple’s big day as Eastbourne Bandstand is licensed for weddings and ceremonies, offering a venue with a difference in the UK’s sunniest place.
Eastbourne Bandstand, with its semi-circular design, silver finial and blue domed roof, is a unique landmark on the south of England and starting this spring, the majestic 1930s building is available for couples to hire for their special day.
With breathtaking views over the main resort beach and out to sea, the Bandstand boasts impressive architecture and an authentic seaside atmosphere, ideal for couples searching for the ultimate quirky venue.
A spokesperson for Eastbourne Borough Council said “We are very excited to launch Eastbourne Bandstand as a wedding and ceremony venue and hope that it will be make a great alternative option for happy couples. As the country’s only fully operational Bandstand hosting over 130 concerts each year, it is swathed in history; from hosting greats such as Johnny Spice to the plaque in memory of an Eastbourne bandsman playing on the Titanic when it sank in 1912, as well as featuring more recently on the big screen in Foyle’s War and Little Britain - the Bandstand really does offer something a bit different when it comes to wedding venues!”
Situated in prime position on Eastbourne seafront, the Bandstand is ideally located for couples looking to put together a wedding package that brings together the best of the seaside destination. With the recently opened Ocean Suite on the end of Eastbourne Pier offering an equally impressive venue for a reception with stunning 360 degree views of the coast, couples have the potential to set their big day on two of Eastbourne’s most famous tourist landmarks.
With a line of hotels opposite the Bandstand, including the refurbished 4-star Cavendish Hotel, Big Sleep Hotel offering celebrity inspired funky décor, or The Grand Hotel offering a reception and honeymoon suite in England’s only 5-star seaside hotel, the venue is ideally located for a choice of reception settings.
